I propose impromptu coding competitions or mini hackfests. Basically it'd be nice to set aside an hour or so for a mini project, ie try to code <insert here> in an hour, individually, in teams, or as a group and see what we come up with. Perhaps we can make it more interesting, constraining the project (ie only allow native modules, or only allow user of certain modules), attempt implementation in as many possible manners as possible, in the shortest amount of code etc... the possibilties are endless.

I'm not sure what others might think of this, but I thought I'd be interested in hearing about things other than just python or python libraries.
Some of the other things I'd be interested in would be bug tracking systems like [http://trac.edgewall.com/ trac], which happens to be in python anyway. Though there's also [http://www.darcs.net/ darcs], an interesting looking source code control system, and a whole host of interesting algorithms and assorted development methodologies out there that I haven't found the time to study on my own.
Just hoping that we don't get too focused...

I'm very interested myself in agile development and testing methodologies, so we could have a session on that if people are interested. I can also present some test tools, which do have some relation to Python, but can be used on their own too (such as [http://confluence.public.thoughtworks.org/display/SEL/Home Selenium], [http://www.fitnesse.org/ FitNesse], [http://staf.sourceforge.net/index.php STAF/STAX]).

Not sure if this is the best place to do, but I just wanted to announce MoinInternationalConference - we'll also visit LA on our trip. If some of you guys want to meet with us and talk about moin, please update that page on the MoinMoin wiki site. -- ThomasWaldmann DateTime(2007-09-23T19:57:01Z)
